The Manor is located 8 miles from both Stratford upon Avon and Warwick, and is just North of the Cotswolds.
Stratford Upon Avon is most famous for being the home of Shakespeare and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The theatre is wonderful (although currently it is being refurbished) and well worth a visit (01789 403444), as are Shakespeare's birthplace and Mary Arden's House if you want to do all things related to the bard!
Stratford has a variety of restaurants, of which we would recommend Carluccios (01789 267 424) and is good for shopping.
Warwick is a great place to visit, in particular for its castle which is magnificent.
Through out the summer there are a variety of historic festivals to celebrate the antiquity of the castle and the sheer scale and quality of the building itself and the grounds make it a great day out
(0870 442 2000).
Warwick has an excellent Thai restaurant, The Art Kitchen (01926 494303), a good tapas and a great gastro pub in the award winning Rose and Crown (01926 411117).
It is also blessed with a first class butchers in Rumps of Warwick (01926 419 166). Gentle drives down into the Cotswold are easy and a wonderful way to spend the day with Broadway a good starting point for a trip .
Closer to home Claverdon is blessed with wonderful views, great gastro pubs and some wonderful walks.
There are three great gastro pubs within two minutes drive of the house. The Crabmill (01926 843342) is an award winning and acclaimed pub/restaurant which is excellent for its food and ambience.
The Durham Ox (01926 842 283) also offers great food and is particulalrly good for a mid-week treat.
The Red Lion (01926 842 291)
which is within walking distance of the house is also an award winning gastro pub and is ideal for lunch on a hot summers day. Just 3 minutes from the house by car is the Ardencote manor hotel and country club.
This offers a variety of spa treatments and guests at the Manor House gain preferential access to these pampering treatments. Posh Cottages can also locally arrange limousine services, sports car hire and tennis coaching for guests at the Manor.
On the practical front there is a small community shop in the village for daily papers but close by there are large Tescos at both Stratford upon Avon and Warwick and a Sainsbury at warwick.
If you would prefer Posh Cottages can organise home delivery of groceries to the property by either Tesco or Waitrose.
